Claudia has taught dance and visual arts in Mexico City, Spain and the Lower Mainland for over 20 years. She has a bachelor's degree in visual arts and art education, a master's degree in fine arts in crafts/textiles from NSCAD University (Nova Scotia), and an Expressive Arts Therapy certificate from Langara College. Since then she graduated from Emily Carr University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and has been an Arts Instructor for the Shadbolt Center since 2013. Noah Franche-Nolan is a pianist, improviser, composer, and educator living in Vancouver BC, situated on the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil Waututh First Nations. No previous experience required. He has been a professional photographer and, in recent years, a painter. Isabella was born, raised and educated in Ukraine. Isaac holds a bachelor's degree from the National University of Mexico and an artist diploma at the Superior School of Music, both in Mexico City and an RCM ARCT and a BCCM Licentiate. His writing on sound and radio art appears in Radio Territories and Islands of Resistance: Pirate Radio in Canada. At Capilano University, she studied with David Vandereyk, and later at UBC, she studied with Dr. Corey Hamm. She was an artist in residence with Dances for a Small Stage and her work with musicians was presented at DOTE festival as well as Dances for a Small Stage. Before her time at the Shadbolt, she has taught theatre, voice and dance to students in private dance schools and summer camps in Ontario and BC. Mariana is a teacher and textile artist with over 20 years of experience in dyeing. Vanessa has experience with a variety of cartooning and art techniques, including Manga and Eastern storytelling. She has particular interests in realistic sculpture, production of functional ceramic wares and glaze chemistry. Christine graduated from Sheridan College in Ontario with a BA in animation and an arts fundamentals certificate. Katharine studied fine art painting and printmaking at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London, UK. She also studied art in Montreal and continued her study of Chinese painting in Vancouver. She feels extremely fortunate to have performed with amazing artists and companies including Tin Gamboa, Bard on the Beach, and Alberta Dance Theatre. His organizational talents have extended to programming classes and supervising and mentoring youth staff members. Learn pottery how you want, when you want with a caring, supportive community.
